What's New and Different in Scheduling
The University's space usage and event registration policies have changed and with it comes new procedures, business processes, and system tools.
Scheduling@Cornell Software Changes
New for Requesters
Changes to the Event Request Form Fall 2021
-
Cornell has several campuses in New York state, and new this Fall, the Event Request Form asks what campus you will be holding your In-Person or Hybrid event.
-
Requestors are able to submit event requests 365-days out from the day the Event Request Form is submitted. Please note that there are specific guidelines for student Orgs.
New for Schedulers
Due to the new Event Activity feature, Schedulers are required to select Edit Event when approving a location(s); selecting the green thumbs up in the Task List will not invoke the Event Activity review workflow process. If you need more information or assistance, contact the Scheduling Office (Mon-Fri 8:30 am - 4:30 pm) at 607-25E-VENT (3-8368), 206 Robert Purcell Community Center, or via scheduling@cornell.edu.
Schedulers are the gatekeepers to the locations they approve. The Event Request Form provides Schedulers with the important information they need when making the determination if an event request is appropriate and the location is available. For more information on the process, visit the Event Scheduling webpage.
-
For events without Event Activities, the Scheduler approves the space and confirms the event.
-
For events with Event Activities, the new form automatically submits the Event Activities questions to the University Event Team (UET) for review. The Scheduler approves the location only, and the event is now processed and finalized by the University Scheduling Team.
Scheduling@Cornell has the ability to assign users To-Do tasks. Schedulers can send a To-Do task to location stakeholders to let them know of a setup need, heads up on custodial needs, after-hours building access, and much more. If you need more information or assistance, contact the Scheduling Office (Mon-Fri 8:30 am - 4:30 pm) at 607-25E-VENT (3-8368), 206 Robert Purcell Community Center, or via scheduling@cornell.edu.
Scheduling@Cornell offers Schedulers the ability to attach location-specific information to their confirmation email while also having the ability to add other stakeholders, a floor plan, location-specific guidelines, etc. to that email.
