In every case, Cornell Catering is committed to providing the professional services and incredible food and beverages that our guests have been accustomed to over the past 35 years.

Food Safety and Allergen Friendly

We value the trust you have in us to safely serve you and your guests. We adhere to strict food safety guidelines and cleaning procedures, and provide extensive training on preventing cross-contamination and accommodating allergen concerns. Our culinary team has also gone above and beyond to ensure that menus are inclusive and can easily accommodate allergens and dietary restrictions.


Cornell University is a global leader in sustainability and climate action. We work with Cornell Dining and the university to guide and align our operations. All of our menus are carefully designed to promote and feature a delicious selection of sustainable seafood and plant-rich options.

Plant-Forward Menus: We aim to lower our carbon footprint and increase healthy food choices by designing and presenting attractive plant-forward menus for all event types.

Food Waste & Reclamation: We have developed systems and partnerships to prevent overproduction and reduce food waste. Any unused leftovers are composted or donated.

Materials Waste & Disposables Policy: We encourage clients to consider reusable service-ware. We partner with Dish Truck, a pollution prevention effort, with a mission to displace solid waste through use of durable dishware.

NYS Grown: Whenever possible, we purchase food that is locally or regionally grown.

Social Responsibility

As a department of Student and Campus Life (SCL) Cornell Catering’s revenue is reinvested in student and campus programs and services.

Student Service & Engagement: We provide employment opportunities, preparing students for entry into the workforce, and offer leadership opportunities through our student program. We have also designed special menus to fit the planning needs and budgets of our student groups.

Living Wage: Staff at all levels in Catering are paid a living wage, in addition to Cornell’s benefits.Local Programs: We are proud to support the Cornell Food Pantry, GIAC, Challenge WorkforceSolutions, Finger Lakes Fresh, the FriendshipDonations Network, Food Bank of the SouthernTier, and United Way.
