Small Weddings & Elopements
When you're planning 1-9 months out, and just need a small event with little or no staff involvement, we've got an option just for you. Cornell-affiliated couples can book a wedding at Sage Chapel or Anabel Taylor Chapel with reduced services, outside the usual timeslots, if the following criteria are met:
- Fewer than 30 guests
- No audiovisual needs
- No aisle markers
- No unity candles
- No catering
- Ceremony is less than 30 minutes
A wedding that does not meet these criteria is considered a “Standard Wedding” and will incur the regular fees associated with such classification (e.g. $750 minimum planning fee and $2,000 Sage Chapel location fee for 2024).
Fees
The fees for a small wedding are outlined as follows and based on date and availability:
Sunday through Thursday

Wedding Services
Conference and Event Services will accept Small Wedding and Elopement inquiries 1 month to 9 months from the event date. Upon inquiry, CES will provide an agreement with the following restriction on terms:
- Event Staff for 1 hour maximum at $50/hour
- Locations for 1 hour maximum
- Insurance at standard levels for a wedding
