Right to Enter

Cornell University reserves the right to enter attendee rooms without prior notice in the event of emergency, to comply with municipal inspections, for law enforcement purposes, or to conduct necessary repairs.

Client/Attendee Property Damage

University shall not be held liable for the loss, theft or damage to personal property of Client or any attendee or agent of Client, however caused.

No Alterations

Client shall not mark, paint, drill into or in any way deface or alter any part of any University property.  Client must obtain the prior written consent of University before affixing any decorations, structures or equipment to any University property. Plans for any decorations (including signage) must be submitted for pre-approval at least three weeks prior to the Event.

Compliance with Laws and Policies; Permits

Client shall comply with the requirements of all applicable laws, orders, regulations of federal, state, county and municipal authorities (including, without limitation, occupancy limits) and with applicable University policies.   Client shall be solely responsible, at its own expense, to obtain any necessary permits required for its Event. In addition, Client is aware of the “New York State on PAUSE” executive orders seeking to impose uniform safety for all persons in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic (“NY on PAUSE”). When using University property, Client shall comply with, and shall ensure all of its employees, agents, vendors, contractors and invitees comply with, all applicable orders, directives, advisories and health and safety guidelines issued by New York State as part of NY on PAUSE and/or related to COVID-19, as the same may be amended and/or re-named hereafter from time to time. In addition, Client shall comply with, and shall ensure all of its employees, agents, vendors, contractors and invitees comply with, all applicable orders, directives, advisories and health and safety guidelines issued by (i) county and municipal governmental and quasi-governmental entities relating to COVID-19, and (ii) the federal government (including the Center for Disease Control and Prevention) relating to COVID-19. Client acknowledges compliance may include, but not be limited to, enforcement of social distancing protocols and the use of gloves, masks, and/or other personal protective equipment. Client further acknowledges that University may also require certain health and safety actions be taken by Client and all of its employees, agents, vendors, contractors and vendors when on the Premises in addition to those required by any governmental or quasi-governmental entity.

Sales Prohibited

Sale of any item by Client or its attendees while on campus is prohibited, with the exception of conference-related educational materials.
