Known for its beautiful lakes, streams, and spectacular waterfalls, it's no wonder that "Ithaca Is Gorges," as the local saying goes. Please go to www.visitithaca.com to learn more about any of the following opportunities.

  • 100-plus waterfalls and gorges within 10 miles of downtown, including the tallest waterfall in the northeast in Taughannock Falls State Park
  • Cayuga Lake, three miles west of campus, with sight-seeing cruises and boat or kayak rentals available
  • Wine tasting on the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail or on one of the neighboring Finger Lakes, an area known among wine connoisseurs nationwide (www.fingerlakeswinecountry.com)
  • The unique Ithaca Farmers Market, open on the lakefront every weekend, April-December
